About Birds of the World
Ostriches stand up to nine feet tall and can outrun nearly anything on the savanna, while a flamingo gets its pink from the carotenoids in the algae and small crustaceans it eats. This collection covers both, along with the peacock (only the male wears the famous tail), the macaws and other parrots, the penguins of the southern ice, the eagles and hawks that hunt on the wing, and the gannets that fold their wings and drop into the sea. Each grid is filled with the names, the plumage, and the places that go with its bird.
