About Hanukkah

Each winter, Jewish families kindle lights in their windows for eight nights, commemorating the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem after the Maccabees' victory and the miraculous cruse of oil that burned for eight days when there was only enough for one. The menorah's shamash, the helper candle used to light all the others, stands a little taller than the rest, a quiet reminder that spreading light is its own kind of honor. Around the warm glow, families gather for latkes sizzling in oil, spinning dreidels, and the small, faithful ritual of returning to do it all again the following night.

How to play
