About The Feast of Tabernacles

The Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot in Hebrew, is one of the three great pilgrimage feasts of Scripture, celebrated in the seventh month when the grain and fruit of the year had all been gathered in. For seven days, families left their solid walls and slept beneath the stars in booths woven from palm, myrtle, and willow, their roofs open enough to let in the night sky. It was an act of joyful memory: the shelters recalled the decades Israel spent journeying through the wilderness, carried by provision they could not have earned, under skies wider than any roof.
