About Classical Composers
Beethoven was nearly deaf when he finished his Ninth Symphony in 1824, and he had to be turned around at the premiere to see the audience applauding. That's the kind of detail we kept in mind building this collection of word searches, which runs from the harpsichord and fugue of the Baroque to the swell of a Romantic string section, with stops at the ballet, the opera house and the orchestra pit along the way. You'll find Bach and Handel, Tchaikovsky's swans, a few arias that have been sung in kitchens for a century, and the quiet order of the instruments themselves, from oboe to timpani. My own favorite is the one on famous pieces, since half the fun is humming each title as you spot it. Put a record on if you like, pick a puzzle, and take as long as the first movement needs.
