About The Hit Factory

On a quiet residential street in Detroit, a two-story house with a hand-painted "Hitsville U.S.A." sign became the most productive recording address in pop history. Berry Gordy built his label on a factory model, disciplined session players, sharp-eared producers, and a relentless ear for the hook, and the hits rolled out like Fords off an assembly line. The basement studio, nicknamed the Snake Pit by its musicians, had an irregular concrete floor and bare walls, yet it produced a warm, punchy sound that climbed charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

How to play
