About Stories by the Speaker
Before television pulled the family to a glowing screen, the radio held the room. A lone console stood against the parlor wall, its amber dial lit like a lantern, and the whole family leaned in as hoofbeats faded into static, a villain laughed in an echoing chamber, or a shadow whispered its famous catchphrase. Those serials unspooled week after week, each episode ending on a breathless note that sent listeners back to the same chair, same time, same station, for years on end.
