About The German Christmas Market

Germany's Weihnachtsmärkte have filled city squares and cobblestone lanes with light and spice for centuries, the oldest on record dating to the late 1300s. Rows of wooden huts glow amber under strings of lights, offering hand-carved ornaments, sugared almonds, and steaming mugs of spiced wine to anyone who steps in from the cold. The scent of roasted chestnuts, fresh spruce boughs, and warm gingerbread drifts through the night air like a memory of every winter that came before.
