About The Throne Room

The throne room was the beating heart of any medieval castle, the place where a monarch received ambassadors, dispensed justice, and held the great feasts that bound loyalty to the crown. Thick tapestries lined the walls to keep out drafts and tell the stories of dynastic glory, while canopied thrones raised on a dais placed the sovereign above every eye in the hall. The flash of a herald's tabard, the lift of a goblet, the distant fanfare of brass, these were the sounds and colors that made the court feel, for a moment, like the center of the world.
