About The Abbey & Cloister
A medieval monastery was a world complete in itself, a place of prayer, learning, and quiet industry. Monks moved through the cloister's covered walkways between chapel, refectory, and dormitory, their days shaped by the rhythm of the bells. In the writing room, brothers bent over vellum by candlelight, copying manuscripts with inkhorn close at hand, preserving centuries of knowledge through the long Middle Ages.
