About Creepy Crawlies
Turn over a single stone in the garden and a whole hidden world reveals itself, a centipede curling away from the light, a pillbug rolling tight as a marble, a pale grub bowing slowly in the dark earth. These small creatures do enormous work: aerating the soil, breaking down leaves, and feeding the robins and hedgehogs above them. They have been crawling across the planet for hundreds of millions of years, long before the first flower ever bloomed.
