About The Busy Beetle

Beetles are the most species-rich order of animals on Earth, armored in jewel-like shells and found on every continent except Antarctica. A beetle's wing cases, called elytra, fold away like tiny hinged doors, protecting the delicate flight wings beneath. From the sacred scarab of ancient Egypt to the garden chafer tumbling across a lawn at dusk, beetles have always moved through the world at their own unhurried, plodding pace.
