About The Feast of Purim

Each year the Jewish feast of Purim fills homes and synagogues with the reading of the Megillah, the scroll of Esther, and with cheering, noisemakers, and laughter. The holiday celebrates the courage of Queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai, who together turned a sentence of destruction into a day of deliverance for their people in the Persian city of Susa. Gifts are exchanged, sweets are shared with neighbors and with the poor, and the whole story is heard again from beginning to end, every name and turn of fate savored aloud.

How to play
