About Italian Desserts

Every Italian bakery has a glass case, and every family has one dessert that has to be on the table or the holiday doesn't count. Panettone arrives from Milan at Christmas, and in Naples the struffoli, little fried dough balls glazed with honey, are piled into a wreath. A cannoli shell in Sicily is filled to order, and the white string on the pastry box is half the memory.
