About Fossils & Amber
Walk a gravel creek bed after a spring rain and you'll understand why kids come home with pockets full of rock. Some of those stones hold a coiled shell or the ghost of a fern, laid down in mud long before anyone was around to name them. Amber is the odd one out, tree resin hardened over millions of years, sometimes with a small insect caught inside like a fly in honey.
