About On the Dance Floor
When the bass line dropped and the horns hit just right, no one stayed seated. From the sock hops of the late 1950s to the velvet-lit ballrooms of the Motown era, the dance floor was the place where music became physical, a shared language of rhythm and motion. The shimmy, the strut, the slow dip at the end of a ballad: every move told a story only the body could finish.
