About Easter Eggs

Dyeing Easter eggs at the kitchen table is one of those rituals that runs on vinegar smell and newspaper spread across the counter. The tradition of decorating eggs in spring goes back centuries, with Ukrainian pysanky (eggs drawn in wax and dipped in successive dye baths) among the most intricate versions still practiced today. In the American backyard version, a dozen boiled eggs, a few wire dippers, and a box of fizzing dye tablets is about all it takes to end up with a basket of something genuinely worth hiding.

How to play
