About Bugs in the Grass

Beetles belong to the order Coleoptera, which holds more described species than any other group of animals, and a single patch of damp soil under a clover leaf can shelter several kinds at once. Add the ladybugs on the stems, the earwigs under the blades and the grubs down in the roots, and a square yard of meadow is busier than most small towns.
