About Polar Animals
A male narwhal's tusk is really a tooth, a spiral one that can grow longer than a broom handle, and it's the sort of fact that sticks with you on a gray afternoon. The word searches in Polar Animals live out there at the cold ends of the earth: belugas clicking beneath the pack ice, walruses hauled out in a snorting heap, an Arctic fox gone white for winter, a snowy owl sitting dead still on a fence post of nothing. Down south you'll find the penguins, huddled against a wind that never lets up, while the caribou and musk oxen carry on across the tundra in their thick, shaggy coats. It's a good collection to have beside the radiator with a hot mug. Pick whichever animal you're curious about and take your time with it.
