About Women of the Bible
Esther walked into the Persian throne room without being summoned, Ruth gleaned barley in a stranger's field, and Mary laid her newborn son down in Bethlehem. The women gathered here (Ruth, Esther, Deborah, Hannah, Sarah, Mary the mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Miriam) each carry a whole story of courage, grief, loyalty, or joy. Miriam, who watched over a baby in a reed basket on the Nile, is a good place to start, and these puzzles are a good excuse to turn their names over again, the way you might a passage you've known for years and still find something new in.
